Can a cop arrest you in the state of Texas for refusing to consent to a car search?

The ACLU says they can not without a warrent, but everyone I talk to here says the can detain you for 24 hours. I know about the proable cause and all. Also no I do not carry drugs or weapons in my car, but do not want a cop going though my stuff.

I took some online tests to see if I could have adult ADD because I heard someone talking about it and it sounded very much like me. Anyway, all the tests I did online told me there’s a very strong chance I have it.
It makes total sense to as I never finish what I start and am always struggling to keep up with all of life’s adversities.

i guess i can say that i live in a bad neighborhood, there are some good and some bad….my next door neighbor who lives literally like a foot away(apartment)….and like its a couple who is bout maybe 40-55 years, who also lives with their mom and my sister says a retarded guy….anyways my dad says that she always have ppl coming so late at night, like 12 or 1….my dad just assumes that theyre crackheads, hes never really seen the *****….so how exactly can you tell, cuz they do seem like really nice ppl, we always smile, or say hello but thats about it, so were not friends with them

She was talking to some teen-age girl,,,They were talking about drugs, and the girl said said that she tried ….and then Tyra was like “we’re not going to show that because you can buy that from stores and we dont support that…”

We are very concerned since we have witnessed not the drugs but the behavior over the past three years kind of like bi-polar disorder now that she has tested positive for drugs we are at wits end She is a wonderful liar and can seem at any time to be normal.We have an atty but We are reaching out for more direction and help.
