Should I buy a car with a salvage title?

The car had been hit and damaged. The car lot has provided verification that all repairs have been made both internally and externally. It looks beautiful to the eye in and out. Is it worth the risk to buy a car with a salvage title?

2005 Honda Accord EX V6 - $9950 w/ 41,000 miles. (According to KBB, it would normally be worth $19,500 more if it wasn’t a salvage title.)

PS - It will be my first car.

98 Honda Prelude Transponder?

Well, I lost the only transponder key for my honda prelude I have a spare key that will turn the car on but will not start it. I was wondering what do I have to do now I called my local honda Dealer ship and they want $600 to make a new key and program. I then called my hardware store and they told me that they need the original key with a transponder to program the new copy. I then was told to buy a ignition module with a new key from a junk yard will this work and if not are there any more suggestions about bypassing the security system so I can get this car back out for sale.

How do you install a new radio into your car?

Where can I find online a free manual of how to remove the existing radio to install a new one? Thanks.

I have a ‘96 Honda Civic and there was an installed radio in it that didn’t come with the car. Someone broke into the car and stole the faceplate of the radio. The actual radio is still there, but there is no way to control it, and I was told it is useless and it is near impossible to buy the exact faceplate separately . So I bought a new radio, but I don’t know how to install it.

Or is it possible to find the exact faceplate for the radio model in the car?

Could y’all please post your suggestions, including pros and cons, for each car, and which car would you buy?
I read the consumer report for Lexus IS 300 the other day, and it was rated 4 of 10. Does that mean its not really a very good car compared with the other two?

90’s Audi, Subaru, Honda, or Nissan?

I am looking at buying a used:

Audi A6,
Subaru Outback(only with head gasket repaired),
Honda Accord/Civic, or
Nissan Altima/Maxima.
All preferably from around 1995-2000.

Please compare these cars from your own knowledge, including saftey, repair costs, reliability, functionality, known problems, and anything else you see pertinent. I have already researched extensively, but can’t seem to find a reliable source for all 3 makes.

As a side note, it would be nice to give more info on the Audi, as that is what I am most interested in. Also, feel free to include your own cars that you find similar to these.

What tools/parts do I need to buy, to replace the brakes on a 2001 Honda Civic?

I am going to replace the brakes on my 2001 Honda Civic (DX I think). I’ve not done a major car repiar before.

I am puchasing the Chilton manual, but it won’t arrive from Amazon for a week. I’m ready to follow the instructions in the manual, but would like to get a heads up on the parts/tools I’ll need before it arrives.

I have a basic tool box. What will I need beyond that? And what brake/car parts will I need? What about jacks? I have the generic one in my trunk. Is it worth getting something different?

I’m reasonably handy, but this’ll be my first real venture into car repair. I’m scared! :’ )

I’m thinking about buying a new car. Is a hybrid car worth it?

I’ve heard that you need to replace the battery in hybrids every 3 or 4 years, which defeat the purpose of saving money on the gas because they’re so expensive. I’ve tried looking this up online and I read anywhere from 3 to 9 years. I wouldn’t mind replacing it after 6 or 7 years, but 3 is unexceptable. Does anyone know a cheaper but quality hybrid car? I’m really liking the Honda Civic Hybrid, but I don’t know many others. Any suggestions and/or advice? Thanks!
